Excellent hotel with free parking, a bar/lounge area, and friendly staff. On my first stay, they helped me find my route. I highly recommend it for a relaxing weekend, and I'm coming back soon!

I booked a stay at The Gables last minute and was greeted by friendly staff upon arrival. Although the carpets looked a bit worn, the personal touches, like a dog bed for my small pet, were a nice surprise. The room size sufficed, but it felt a bit outdated with thin walls letting in corridor noise. My bed was uncomfortable, making sleep difficult. We dined at the restaurant and while my wife's meal was enjoyable, mine missed the mark. The burger tasted frozen, and the chips were overcooked. Breakfast, a key part of any stay, was adequate but lacked variety and took too long to arrive. I appreciate the staff's effort, but the overall experience felt mixed. I'd return for a short stay but wouldn't look for anything longer.

my family and i had a great stay this time in gretna green, surpassing our last visit. the family suite was spacious and well-equipped, with plenty of room for everyone. the breakfast was superb, featuring a variety of fresh options that set us up for the day.

It was just a balanced option for a city holiday in Gretna Green with incredible value for money. The cooked Scottish breakfast was great and offered a vegetarian option.

The hotel is a great base for exploring the stunning Lake District, especially with our pet in tow. The staff made us feel welcome, and the spacious family guest room provided a comfortable place to unwind after visits to nearby Tullie House Museum and Dumfries.

For dads, it would be great if they improved the room maintenance.

I had a lovely stay recently, enjoying a great dinner with excellent service and a wonderful breakfast, all while being just a quick stroll from Raydale Park and the famous Blacksmiths Shop, making it perfect for weekend explorations.

We had an enjoyable night, especially the surprisingly fantastic dinner and the cozy feel of the bar. Breakfast was also great. they had a nice selection! Everything was comfortable, though the decor was a tad dated.
